    • Faster, more reliable uploads & downloads, especially on high-volume accounts.

  2. 🔑 New Roles, More Flexible Seat Management, and Internal Comments Are Here

    New Feature
    Improvement

We've rolled out pricing and seat updates, clearer roles with more granular permissions, flexible billing for your team's seasonality, and a fully private way to talk internally on a project, plus a much more powerful free reviewing experience. Here's everything that's shipping.

    ✏️ Editor Role: What's Changing

Editors are the core of how retouching ops actually run on VeryBusy.

Starting today, the Editor role in projects will require a workspace seat.

Owners and Managers already require a paid seat today. That doesn’t change. Editors are the only role moving from free to paid. Reviewers stay free with no limit on how many a project or workspace can have.

    More on the transition:

Editors without a seat get 30 days of free Editor access. This applies to anyone who has Editor permissions without a seat on August 1, as well as anyone invited as an Editor for the first time after August 1. This gives projects room to start without automatically adding a paid seat.

    After 30 days:

    • If they’re assigned a paid seat, they keep Editor permissions
    • If not, they automatically switch to a Reviewer

    👉🏽 Full details here.

    Editors can:

    • Upload and stack rounds
    • Manage assets
    • Create and add labels
    • Full download permissions, including layered PSDs with comments.
    • Invite other Editors or Reviewers onto a project via email.
    • Full version history: internal comments and compare to any previous round.
    • Markup, comment and approve assets

Ideal for: Retouchers (in-house and external), Art Directors, Producers or anyone who does editing and operational work.

⭐ Reviewers: free, unlimited, and more powerful than ever

If someone only needs to review work, leave feedback, compare versions, or approve assets, they can stay a Reviewer.

Unlimited Free Reviewers: There is no limit on how many a project or workspace can have.

    Reviewers can:

    • Comment and markup on any asset
    • Approve assets
    • Download assets (when enabled by the Project Manager)
    • 🆕 Compare against any previous round.
    • 🆕 Rate and star assets
    • 🆕 Upload R0 or a new asset (when enabled by the Project Manager)

👉🏽 Learn more about managing reviewer permissions.

👥 Workspace Roles: Manager & Editor

More granular permissions on who can access what across your workspace, not just within a project.

    • Workspace Manager: full workspace access. They can create and manage projects, see everything in the workspace, have seat management permissions, and create labels and contact groups.
    • Workspace Editor: scoped access. Works only inside the projects they're explicitly invited to. Can't create projects, see the rest of the workspace, or manage members.

Billing and workspace settings are Workspace Owner only.

    • 🆕 Managers can assign available seats themselves, from the pool the Owner has already purchased.

👉🏽 Learn more about workspace member roles.

💳 Flexible seats for your seasonality

Running a busy season or a short-term push that needs more hands?

    • Mixed billing on the same workspace: add seats whenever you need them, monthly or annual, regardless of your plan's billing period. Scale up for the weeks you need it, then let them lapse. Learn more about mixed billing here.
    • No more seat limits in any plan.

👉🏽 Learn more about mixed billing.

    💬 Internal Comments

Internal Comments let your team discuss feedback notes privately, completely invisible to clients, leadership, and external reviewers. Only workspace members have full internal commenting permissions.

    • Same asset, only source of truth: no more duplicating assets or spinning up a second project just to separate internal notes from client-facing review.
    • Full control over who sees what.
    • Available on the Studio Plan only.

👉🏽 Learn more about internal comments.

    🔐 SCIM Provisioning

VeryBusy now supports SCIM 2.0 (System for Cross-domain Identity Management), so your identity provider (IdP) can automatically create, update, and deactivate VeryBusy accounts for your team.

SCIM Provisioning is an Enterprise-plan feature. If you're on Studio or Pro and want to enable it, contact us at enterprise@verybusy.io.

    ⚡ Performance & Reliability

We also shipped a round of under-the-hood work: faster project deletion, quicker load times, and smoother day-to-day performance across the app.

Plus a bunch of other fixes, including a smoother markup panning experience, mobile UI improvements, ⌘+A (Select All) in comment fields, activity tag behavior, thumbnails comment updates speed, clearer round naming, and more.

🆕 Fixes & Polish — straight from your feedback

    • CSV downloads: export a full snapshot of a project to CSV, including filenames, round numbers, asset status, assignments, labels, and more. Useful for archiving, sharing project state with stakeholders, or pulling data into your own reporting. Learn more
    • Scroll position: your scroll position within a project is saved! When you return to project thumbnails from markup view, you’ll land right back where you last were. No more re-scrolling through hundreds of files to find what you were working on.
    • Expanded round-deletion permission: Project Owners and Project Managers can now delete a round regardless of who originally uploaded it. This expanded functionality keeps projects from being delayed if the original uploader isn’t available.
    • Move-to-assets: This is a bug fix you found. Moving assets between projects and folders now works reliably in all scenarios, including nested folders and cross-project moves.
